Use of DOIs

Most citations in APA using a link should utilize a digital object identifier (or DOI) link. For more information on DOIs and their use in APA, see the "Using DOIs vs Permalinks" tab in APA Best Practices.

Use of Database Titles in APA Citations

A reference/citation in APA is intended to refer to the original published work, not necessarily where a researcher located the resource. Include the database title of a cited work within its citation "only when it is necessary for readers to retrieve the cited work from that exact database."

For more information, see pg. 296 in the 7th edition.
