Pryor Learning Commons - Second Floor: Library Spaces and Services

Descriptions of library policies, services, and resources specific to the 2nd Floor of the Pryor Learning Commons (PLC).

Second Floor Amenities

The second floor is intended as a quiet study space for William Jewell College students, staff, and faculty. It also includes other research support and library services:

  • The Critical Foundations Collection
  • The reserve room and DVD collections
  • Librarian Offices with open office hours 

Accessing the Second Floor

The second floor has three entry points:

  • Main staircase
  • Elevator
  • Exterior door on the north side of the floor

Access after 9pm will require a William Jewell Swipe ID.

Non-library PLC Services

The following services and offices are located on the first floor of the PLC:

  • Men's and Women's restrooms (Tornado Shelter)
  • Water fountain and bottle filler
  • PLC 110 and 112 Classrooms
  • Reservable multimedia editing rooms 
  • The eHub desk and the office of Teaching and Learning Technologies
  • Open social lounge and study seating

The following services and offices are located on the second floor of the PLC:

  • Men's and Women's restrooms (Tornado shelter)
  • Water fountain and bottle filler
  • 2 printers; one near restrooms, the other near the fireplace
  • The Office of Access and Engagement
  • Reservable study room
  • Food vending machine
  • 12 networked computer stations

The following services and offices are located on the first floor of the PLC:

  • Men's and Women's restrooms (NOT tornado shelters)
  • Filtered water fountain and bottle filler
  • The Beak Coffee Shop
  • Social study spaces, chairs and desks
  • The Office of Global Studies and Journey Grants
  • The Office of the Academic Achievement Center
  • Two reservable group study rooms
