Library Migration: Interlibrary loan

This resource guide describes and shares information of 2024 system migrations in Library Services.

Interlibrary loan

Interlibrary loan services via Prospector (peer-to-peer borrowing with the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries), the KC-Towers catalog, and the MOBIUS catalog (INN-Reach) are impacted by these system migrations, since they utilize the outgoing vendor's technologies.

The last day to request items via Prospector was January 12, 2024.

William Jewell College Library Services recommends that patrons place holds for needed interlibrary loan items in the KC-Towers and MOBIUS catalogs by Monday, April 15, 2024. This should allow processing and transit time before the request systems are taken offline on April 18.

Traditional Interlibrary loan requests are permitted following the freezing of the KC-Towers and MOBIUS catalogs, but this manual process takes an average of 10-15 business days to receive physical loans. View the Interlibrary Loan Book Request Form to learn more. The Interlibrary Loan Article Request Form (typically 3-to-5 business days) will remain available to patrons, but there may be significant delays due to an expected increase in traditional Interlibrary loan requests.

It is expected that MOBIUS Locate, the new MOBIUS catalog that will support the OpenRS resource sharing solution, will be active for new requests on Wednesday, May 22, 2024.
